New on the Air:: ZIBRA – ‘Chlorine’


A startlingly addictive slice of sugary-acidic synth pop is thrown our way by London ‘glitch indie’ pedallers ZIBRA. Taking a trip through their YouTube channel is like dropping a significant amount of hallucinatory supplements and watching your childhood VHSs with a creepy uncle. To that end, the video for ‘Chlorine’ does a great job of partnering the hyperactive yet sinister vibe the song itself brings.Even the notionally straightforward synth hook doesn’t quite fall in line with what your ears are expecting it to, but after a few listens there is no removing it from your cerebral cortex. Similarly, the chorus chant of ‘All I wanna do, All I wanna do’ echoes around long after the track has finished.

With the group currently working with Years & Years and Clean Bandit producer Mark Ralphs  we can certainly expect big things from this group this year. Check out ‘Chlorine’ below:
