London four-piece, ZIBRA, continue their championing of VHS aesthetic, with their ZIBRAVISION video for new track ‘Chlorine’.
VHS is ZIBRA’s go-to format for their music videos. “It’s easy to use de-funked equipment that looks better, and gives an effect that can’t be re created with modern technology. It’s also cheaper and easier to source”says Lead singer, Sam Battle. Sam’s CV includes a job repairing broken synths, and his electronic wizardry appears key to much of Zibra’s excellent command of glitchiness, using a mixture of homemade synths and vintage equipment.
With a sound that harks back to the glory days of Klaxons and Crystal Castles, the band are currently in the studio working on new music with Simon Katz (Youngblood Hawke, Digitalism, Chiddy Bang) and Mark Ralph (Clean Bandit, Years & Years).
