New review in Drunken Werewolf

Simply the mention of the word “funk” is enough to send a shiver down any honest music fan’s spine. It’s a genre resigned to dodgy playlists at 4am in an otherwise dance orientated club, and not something you ordinarily associate with an independent band coming out of London. Nevertheless Zibra work a guitar line straight out of an early Red Hot Chili Peppers album onto their new track “R.I.P. (Rest in Peace)”.

The infectious slice of electro pop is the product of two men living and working out of Broadwater Estate in Tottenham, North London. Recently formed but already in possession of enough songs to constitute a year’s worth of work, their EP sampler is currently available to stream here. With more work on the way they’re sure to accrue a loyal following before Christmas time. Or indeed at this rate, Halloween.
